Orientum supports Environmental Projects
Reforestation project in Turkey by TEMA
Orientum will donate 1 oak tree sapling for every purchase over £20 as part of a large reforestation project in Turkey.

TEMA Foundation implements reforestation, afforestation, carbon sequestration and biodiversity protection projects in areas subject to erosion, in order to regain the green cover, wild life and ecological balance. The foundation, with the support of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in Turkey has planted 2,2 million saplings over an area of 2.350 hectares under 25 different reforestation projects through the sponsorship of individuals and companies.
TEMA considers soil to be one of Turkey’s most precious resources and therefore pursues the implementation of a state environmental protection policy, which is necessary for the adequate protection of forests, grazing land, agricultural land, water and plant gene sources and the prevention of soil erosion.
TEMA Foundation collaborates with several organizations and institutions working in environmental protection and sustainable development field, such as Special consultative status to ECOSOC (The Economic and Social Council of the United Nations), Member of IUCN (The World Conservation Union), Member of IECA (The International Erosion Control Association), TEMA is an accredited NGO of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and an accredited NGO partner of UNEP-MAP (United Nations Environment Programme – Mediterranean Action Plan), and many more.
The project we are specifically supporting as Orientum is the "10 billion oaks" project that aims to plant 10 billion oak saplings around 1 millon hectares around Turkey. This project is one of the largest reforestation projects in the world and since it started in 1998, 640 million oak tree saplings have been planted.

As Orientum we source most of our products from Turkey, so we felt it was necessary and important to support a project to help sustain the environment in Turkey. All around the world, dedicated organisations work for similar goals in different regions and you may consider helping these organisations.
